IRON CROSS GRAVE MARKERS

Help !

I am searching for information about the cast iron crosses which mark the graves of Czech Catholic immigrants throughout the Czech settlements of no less than twelve states.   In Texas there are dozens.   Most of these markers were the product of Charles Andera of Spillville, IA. and Tremont, MO.  I believe that he advertised in Czech Catholic fraternal union publications.   With that in mind, I desire to locate holdings of pre-1929 copies of the following publications:

  • HLAS: newspaper published in St. Louis and in Chicago
  • NAROD: newspaper published in Chicago
  • KATOLIK: newspaper published in Chicago
  • BUDITEL: organ of the Zapadni Ceska Katolicka Jednota
  • NASINEC: organ of the Rimsko-Katolicka jednota Texaska
  • NOVY DOMOV: organ Ceska Katolicka Jednota Zen ve statu Texas
  • 1877-1927. Pamatnik ku zlatemu jubileu a XXVII generlnimu sjezdu Prvni ustredni Jednoti v St. Louis, Missouri. St. Louis, 1927, 1 v.

If you know of or have any of these publications, or especially if you have knowledge of Andera crosses I'd appreciate hearing from you.
