There were 3 planes named "Ole Tomato", a B-26, a B-25 and a B-24. The last (B-24) was the plane lost in combat along with her crew. They were with the 33rd Bomb Squadron. The first two the B-26 and the B-25 were from the 2nd squadron. My Dad was an aircraft mechanic (and eventually a crew chief) with the 2nd, he was assigned to the B-26, Ole Tomato, I'm not sure about the B-25, but he was with the squadron from 1940 untill Sept. of 44.
