The dates the planes flew, named "Ole Tomato" The B-26 with the 2nd squadron from Jan of 42 untill Jan of 43 when the B-26s were replaced by the B-25s. The remaining 26s went to the 19th squadron where they were refurbished, stripped of paint and became the "Silver Fleet". The B-25s from Jan of 43 untill Jan of 44 when the B-25s were replaced with B-24s. The B-25 that was Ole Tomato, was transfered to the 345th Bomb Group. That's when the 22nd Bomb Group was redesignated from a medium bomb group to "heavy". Thus the switch to B-24s. |
