Hi there! Hoping you might be able to help. The 22nd BG had a detachment od Marauders deployed here at Nowra in New South Wales, early in the Pacific War. They were sent here specifically to undertake torpedo training and we know that at least one was destroyed here during a landing accident. Nowra was then an RAAF airfield, and ther are some photographs of the episode published in "?..Allen & The Martin Marauder". We're planning an exhibition about the early history of the base and are keen to contact anyone who might be able to give us some background to this deployment. In particular, what squadron and aircraft were assigned here, are there any photographs from that time still held by your members and, are there any anecdotes which are already or, can still be recorded? Any assistance yould be appreciated. Mark Clayton Director Australian Naval Aviation Museum Nowra, NSW
